Session Report Arcade Game

                                        Tiger Heli Session

Tiger Heli from https://archive.org/details/internetarcade

My experience in playing Tiger Heli has been entertaining. It reminds me of your typical scrolling shooter games using an aircraft such as a helicopter or fighter plane. While playing Tiger Heli, the controls were a bit stiff, but that is expected from older games, but I was still able to navigate the helicopter using the arrow keys on the keyboard as you would using an arcade joystick. Most of the time, I was just holding down the shooting button and avoiding tank attacks while advancing through the game. I was able to go a bit far and ended up getting on the top ten scoring list, where I could input my three initials.

Gameplay from Tiger Heli
I usually like to play old games by using an emulator. For example, I use software called Project64 to play N64 games on my laptop (spending my time on it playing Super Mario 64). Although I do not usually play older games, I found Tiger Heli to be competitive in terms of staying alive. The only difference in playing a game in an emulator than on the original hardware for me is the controls. Playing a game that was meant to be played using a joystick and buttons on a laptop keyboard can be a bit of a learning curve especially when the controls on the emulator are positioned oddly different. Although an emulator is nice, I'd rather play these types of games on the original hardware because of the nostalgic feel and that the game was suited with the original hardware.
